WHERE DO WE BEGIN?

Two years ago, my 15-year-old son, A.J., suffered from debilitating stomach pain and quickly lost more weight than he could afford. After searching for answers, he was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I was devastated and had no idea what it meant. We are a “foodie” family and love food, especially the forbidden bread, pasta, and baked goods. A.J. is blessed with a fast metabolism and has been trying to gain weight, so this was a blow. However, I was determined to find and make foods he would enjoy eating.

Well-intentioned friends and family said, "Gluten-free has come a long way, and there are so many options these days.” This is true, but I quickly learned that not all gluten-free products or recipes are created equal. Usually, the texture suffers, or there is a lot of added sugar and salt to disguise the taste. I aim to give you honest reviews of products and my favorites as I find them.

I love cooking and baking. I’ll give you my teenager-approved recipes. We don’t tell guests our food is gluten-free until after they’re done, and they’re usually shocked.

Whether you have Celiac disease or gluten intolerance or want to avoid gluten when possible, this is the place for you!

Enjoy!

Laura
